Start with the problem.
"I want a button on the page" isn't a brief. I want to understand what you're trying to achieve — or, just as valid, admit we're exploring what's worth doing.

Engineers shape the plan.
On frontier tech, the people doing the work discover where the value actually is. Test hypotheses. Adjust around results — not around what got written down three months ago.

Ship over schedule.
Bureaucracy is why I went independent. If every decision needs three meetings and a steering committee, I'm probably not the right fit.

Impact over OKRs.
Usually they align. When they don't, I'll flag it rather than pretend.
Selected work
Built internal systems that made other teams measurably faster. This is where I learned that developer experience is one of the highest-leverage things you can invest in at a small company.
Proposed and led the rewrite of the entire stack. The team came out the other side as the highest-performing engineering group in the company. Separately, shipped a production NLP system that replaced words in text with simpler synonyms on the fly — improving readability with zero manual tagging from content teams.
Legacy systems that predate the modern web. The technical work was mostly keeping old things alive; the real job was cultural — giving a room full of capable engineers permission to try new things inside a risk-averse organization.
Led engineering on agentic AI systems in clinical settings — building the framework that lets specialized AI agents do real work inside regulated healthcare environments.

I'm a software developer with deep experience in AI and full-stack work. I've built everything from machine learning pipelines and generative AI systems to production web applications.
